Industry-Recognized Certifications

You may be wondering how employers will know what skills you've mastered during your time at Mid. The College has partnered with organizations representing a wide range of career fields to highlight these skills and award industry-recognized skill certifications. Remember to list these certifications on your resume to alert potential employers that you are ready for real-world work.

As part of this effort, Mid is affiliated with NC3, the National Coalition of Certification Centers, a nationwide network of education/training providers and corporations that develops, implements, and sustains industry-recognized certifications built on national skills standards. Through Mid's affiliation with NC3, the College is able to broaden the number of industry certifications you can earn.

Over 590 NC3 Industry-Recognized Certifications have been issued to Mid students since the Fall 2018 semester!

"Certifications are a crucial piece to the puzzle in solving today’s skilled trades workforce shortage. Earning these certifications is a great investment for both the future employee and the employer. For the employee, certifications are a specialized training that pierces through unnecessary rhetoric to provide the tools and training necessary for a specific job of their interest. Tools that are meaningful and focused in providing practical skills for success in the workplace. For the employer, certifications are a “flag raised high” to pinpoint potential candidates in a crowd. A flag that signifies the future employee has practical skills and tools for success which flatten the curve and shorten the time to make the new employee a productive and effective team member."

Brian Sheets, Executive Manager of Employee Development and Quality Assurance at Avalon & Tahoe Manufacturing, Inc.
